Our Custodians
To enhance your security and independence:
- You appoint an independent Custodian of your choice – either National Australia Trustees Ltd or ANZ Trustees Ltd. We have long standing relationships with both Custodians. The Custodian is appointed independent of our Funds Management Agreement and, accordingly, can be retained by the client if they so wish, regardless of whether or not they retain Harper Bernays as funds managers.
- The Custodian holds all assets separately in your private portfolio.
- All cash is held in the Custodian’s cash management account, or in Bills or other debt instruments bought by them under our instructions.
- The Custodian establishes a stand alone account for each client and all investments are registered in your name – c/o the Custodian.
- The Custodian looks after all the dealings with share registries and all shareholder correspondence associated with the companies in which we invest.
- The Custodians holds a Power of Attorney for each portfolio.
- The Custodians settle all transactions and collect interest and dividends.
- The Custodian prepares monthly statements and taxation reports which we reconcile against our records each month prior to dispatch.
We pay the Custodians’ costs for their services from our fee.
