Benefits of investing with us

Single monthly fee

We have no "entry" or "exit" fees, or hidden fees, just a simple, single management fee to cover a range of benefits outlined below.

Tailored Portfolio and Personalised Service

We create an individually managed portfolio for you, tailored and constructed to suit your needs. Your monies are not pooled with a large number of other investors who may have conflicting investment priorities.

Because your account is individually managed we can respond quickly, on your behalf, to investment opportunities, or changing market conditions. We can also support you in dealing with taxation issues, on both a personal, and portfolio basis.

We offer a one-to-one service. You can contact your private investment managers at any time to discuss your portfolio or arrange a meeting.

Detailed monthly reporting ensures that you are kept up to date with the performance of your investments and assists in simplifying your taxation affairs. We can also, subject to your approval, deal with your accountant and/or tax advisers on these matters, including providing on a regular basis, detailed reports.

Ownership

You have direct ownership of all the assets in your portfolio which are held on your behalf by a Custodian. This means that when we execute transactions they can genuinely reflect your specific situation, such as tax-planning requirements at year end and the optimising of net cash flow to your account, including franking credits.  There is no capital gains tax on the transfer of your existing portfolio to Harper Bernays management.

Investment Rigor and Risk Management

Your investment manager picks stocks that have been thoroughly researched, using our rigorous investment selection approach. Our risk management guidelines are used to then monitor and maintain acceptable risk levels at a portfolio level for all our clients.

Custodian

An independent Custodian holds your assets on your behalf and manages the settlement of transactions and the receipt of dividends and interest. Any surplus cash is invested in the Custodians cash management account, or in bank bills.

Greater Opportunities

The way we operate gives our clientele the ability to participate in investment opportunities, such as floats, share placements, and sub underwritings, which are generally only available to institutional investors.

We support you in tax planning, and constructing portfolios that meet your desired needs, such as income growth for those in retirement. We handle all types of corporate structures (Estates, Companies, Super-funds, Family and Special Purpose Trusts etc.), but in all instances, only for individuals and families.

Market knowledge

We provide direct access to our fund managers so that clients can ring any time they wish and speak to the same person that invests and manages their portfolio(s) on a first-name basis, discuss stocks, give instructions, request reports or analysis - whatever they want or need, and we also extend the same service to their financial or tax advisor or their accountant.
